OUR MAIN FIBER: ORGANIC COTTON
Since no toxic chemicals are used in the cultivation of organic cotton, the soil is not damaged, pollutant emissions are minimized, the groundwater remains clean and there is no health risk for the farmers. Water consumption is around 70% below the normal average, organic cotton is 80% irrigated with rainwater and around 60% less energy is used.
When you choose to buy organic cotton, you are investing in the protection of water, clean air, healthy soil and a fairer life for farmers.
OUR SECOND MOST IMPORTANT FIBER: LYOCELL
The lyocell fabrics from our fabric supplier “Lebenskleidung” are produced using the lyocell fiber technology (Tencel Lyocell) developed by the Austrian company Lenzing. They use a closed-loop process, which ensures that 99% of the auxiliary materials used in production can be reused. Lenzing uses FSC®- and PEFC™-certified wood from sustainable forestry for production.

Our fabric suppliers
NANA YAW BARIMA
We met Nana in 2024 in Kumasi, Ghana. He was the first fabric supplier we went to in order to purchase the traditional Kente fabric. And it was perfect from the very first moment. Nana produces the fabric himself, having taken over the craft from his father 15 years ago. The production of Kente fabric goes way back into the family generation.
LEBENSKLEIDUNG
We source most of our fabrics from “Lebenskleidung”. The Berlin-based company is committed to sustainability. The employees develop and source in Europe, ensure fair working conditions and produce durable products that are all certified - including GOTS and fair for life.
XOOMBA
Our fabric supplier Xoomba from Burkina Faso, produces fabrics with locally produced organic cotton. Xoomba wants to prove that we can make fashion in an environmentally friendly way, that we can look good and at the same time treat people and the planet with respect.
